Copyright & IP Policy

Last updated: 2026-08-05

HOOP respects intellectual property and expects everyone on the platform to do the same. This policy explains where content on HOOP comes from, how to report infringement, and how takedowns and counter-notices work. It applies to all content: music, games, posts, avatars, and anything else users publish.

1. Where content comes from

Music on HOOP is either (a) generated with our AI music tools — original works that may carry a provenance watermark, or (b) uploaded by creators who declare they own the rights, and reviewed before it becomes publicly available. Games are built by HOOP, by third-party developers under the Developer Agreement, or generated with our AI tools under the Creator & AI Content Terms.

2. Report infringement

If you believe content on HOOP infringes your copyright or other IP rights, email us:

📧 IP complaints

Please include:

  1. The title and in-app link or ID of the content you are reporting.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed, and proof you hold or represent the rights.
  3. Your name and contact information.
  4. A good-faith statement that the use is unauthorised and that your notice is accurate.

We act on valid notices within 24–48 hours — infringing content is removed, the publisher is notified, and repeat infringers lose publishing access and, in serious cases, their accounts.

3. Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake, reply to the same address within 14 days with your explanation and evidence of rights. If the complainant does not pursue the matter further, the content may be restored.

4. Trademarks and other IP

The same process applies to trademark, publicity, and other IP complaints. The HOOP name and logo are property of HOOP Technology Sdn. Bhd. and may not be used in ways that suggest endorsement without written permission.

5. Other reports

Objectionable (non-IP) content can be reported directly in the app — long-press a message, or use the ⋯ menu on a post or profile, then Report. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. See the Community Guidelines.
